Gentlemen

Mr James Roper of Blackford Wedmore has seen us

upon your letter to him of the 28th of July last in which

letter you state that the sum of £50 less certain deduc-

tions leaving a net sum of £34.4.8 was due. This sum has

been paid to our client.

We now venture to write and ask you whether this is all that can be done for the support of the two orphan children of the late Lance Sergeant A.Counsell. This is a

very hard case and the sum of £34.4.8 will certainly not

go far towards the maintenance of the children.

We trust you may be able to assist them further

seeing that Lance Sergeant A. Counsell was nearly out of his

time *
